Description: The staff and students of St. Peter’s Academy Patiala took an initiative to organise an ‘Anti-Begging Awareness Rally’ under the capable guidance of Patiala District Administration and Sahodya Schools Complex, Patiala. The rally was flagged at 9:00 AM by the warthy Chief Guest Dr.Shaina Kapoor(District Child Protection officer), Mr. Kaushal the legal advisor of the school, The Principal Rev. Fr. Michael Collins, The Manager Rev. Fr. Dominic Bosco and Rev. Fr. Soosai Raj. The motive of the rally was to discourage begging and curb this social evil from our society. The school students through Street play, Songs, Anti-Begging Banners and posters helped spread awareness among the common public to discourage begging that would help the poor children to seek education, avoid child-labour and also help their parents to become self-depend instead of relying on alms. The Principal of the school Rev. Fr. Michael Collins was the driving force behind this unique initiative.
