When we traverse the corridors of the past and peep we are simply bewildered as how a noble cherished dream of Father P. M. Lewis, in the year 1971, to start a school for tiny tots in the premises of the Church of Our Lady of Fatima became a reality. St. Peter's Academy was started in memory of Dom Pedro Rebello, a great educationist who died in Patiala in 1970 in an accident. From 1971 to 1987 the stupendous task of structuring the school was shouldered by Father Joseph Vadakkal, Father Xavier, Father Wency D'Silva, Sister Athilia, Father Thomas Anchanikal and Sister Fosca. Their undaunted faith in God and zeal and dedication and the inspiration and support by Rt. Rev. Gilbert B. Rego, former Bishop of Simla Chandigarh Diocese channelled the School to carve out a niche for itself and progress from strength to strength. The School was affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the year 1986 and then there was no looking back. The first batch of class X students appeared for the CBSE examination in the year 1988.

The School was given a face lift by Father Antony V.V. with the additional construction. The School ground was levelled and a stage was built for the purpose of holding functions. The School achieved another milestone when it got affiliated to the District Education Office in the field of sports. The School band is the pride of the school which is also at the service of other organizations as and when required. The School was also fortunate to have competent, sincere, efficient and capable Managers and Principals who worked diligently for the progress of the school.

In 2013, St. Peter's Academy achieved another milestone by the introduction of Senior Secondary Classes providing a platform for professional and higher education for its students. For this purpose, the construction of a new block was undertaken and the School offers Medical, Non-Medical, Commerce and Humanities streams to Students. The School has kept abreast of technical advancements with the introduction of latest teaching aids, E-Communication System, E-Library, etc.

The journey of St. Peter's Academy continues – always in pursuit of excellence with the firm resolve to mould students into fine human beings with self-discipline, strong character based on sound moral values.
