Description: The grand reception of the newly appointed Bishop of Simla-Chandigarh Diocese was held at St. Peter's Academy, Patiala on 19 July 2025 .The reception of newly appointed Bishop of Simla-Chandigarh Diocese Hon'ble Dr. Sahay Thatheus Thomas (President Simla-Chandigarh Educational Society) concluded today with great pomp and gaiety at St. Peter's Academy, Patiala. On this dignified occasion, religious people, local leaders, school staff and students warmly welcomed the Bishop. The function started with a prayer and bhajan presentation, after which the students of the school presented a cultural program which included dance and drama performances. Bishop Dr. Sahay Thatheus Thomas said in his inspirational speech, "I thank God for giving me the opportunity to serve on this holy land. I am committed to carry forward the principles of love, service and compassion." Many distinguished guests were present in this ceremony, which included: Dr. Gurbachan Singh Rahi Retired Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala, Dr. Kiranpal Singh Sekhon Naturopathic Doctor, Past Life Regression Therapist, Environmentalist, Brahmakumari Dr. Rama - Associate Professor, Rajendra Hospital, Patiala, Pandit Madan Mohan Spiritual Leader, Sai Vridh Ashram, Chaura Road, Patiala, Mata Khevi Vridh Ashram, Soolar, Patiala, Shri Ajitpal Singh Kohli MLA, Patiala Urban, Shri Itvinder Singh Luthra - Municipal Councilor, Patiala. At the end of the ceremony, the Principal of the school, Father Michael Collins, and the manager, Father Dominic Bosco welcomed the new bishop and said that this is a moment of pride and blessing for us. He expressed hope for new awareness and dedication in the field of community and education under the leadership of the bishop. On this occasion, wheelchairs were donated by St. Peter's Academy to the old age home, symbolizing the spirit of service and compassion. This initiative was appreciated by all the guests present. The school management honored the bishop and special guests who came to the function by presenting mementos and bouquets of flowers.
